What Home Means to Me

Home to me is my family, my dog, and the space I have where I feel happy, loved, and comfortable. Home is my family. Home is not about how expensive or how nice it looks; it is about the people in it, specifically my family. My family brings a lot of energy and fun into the house. I love playing games with my siblings even if I always lose. Having family game nights and having dinner together at home is what makes my house a home. Home is my dog, Zoe. Every morning my dog waits for me to give her treats. I tell her to sit, lay down, and roll over. I am happy when she gets her treat and goes outside. When I come home from school, my dog runs down the stairs and wags her tail waiting for me to come and greet her. My dog Zoe is a puppy that fills my day with joy. Home is the space where I feel comfortable. My bedroom is comfortable because it belongs to me. At nighttime I cuddle up with my fluffy blankets and plushies and go to sleep listening to the sound of nature outside my window. I also have lots of privacy and a space to call my friends to talk, giggle, and sometimes scream! Home is a safe place that no one should take for granted. Some people do not have a lot of money to spend on a home. That is why I am thankful that I have a home that has my family, my dog, and a space where I feel comfortable.
