THE MEANING OF HOME

In the Ukraine we had an old house. I lived with my mother, my grandmother and my uncle. We ate supper in the living room in front of the big TV. My favorite was when we had dumplings. I liked to walk outside at home. It started to get very noisy at home. There were always sirens. And rockets were being thrown at us from the russians. It was VERY scary. My mom decided it was time to move. A student of my grandmother’s helped us decide on Winnipeg and helped us figure out how to get here. Now I live in an apartment. My grandmother came with my mom and I. In my apartment we still eat dinner in te living room in front of the TV. My bed is very tall. My favorite supper is chicken. Sometimes I miss the Ukraine. I like my home and I like my new friends. I’m happy to live in Canada. Yaroslav grade 4
