My Home Sweet Home

Homes are important in our lives. My home is important to me because it is where you make memories that will stay with you forever. Home is where you build roots and start to grow. Home can be different for everyone, but some people don’t have a home. I want to help change that. I would like to help people have a home to make memories in, and to call their own. Homes can smell, feel, taste, sound, and look different for everyone. My home smells like spices and delicious meals my mom makes, that make my taste buds dance when I take a deep breath in. Home sounds like the soothing melodies drifting away from the piano, as soft and sweet as a bird’s song. Home feels like my bed that is as comfy as a cloud, with a warm cocoon of blankets wrapped around me like a burrito. Home tastes like the cherry pie that we make out of the cherries from our tree, with the perfect mix of sour and sweet to enjoy after a meal. Home looks like a slightly cluttered kitchen, a piano, a chair, a dog napping, and plants almost everywhere you look. Home is the simple enjoyment of finishing a book, or putting the last piece of a puzzle in place. Home is being all cuddled up in a blanket, enjoying what’s around you. Home is not just different rooms, it’s what you do inside them. Home is where friends and family are always welcome. Home gives you a sense of protection. Home isn’t just your house; it’s your friend’s house, your grandparents’ house, or even your cousin’s house. Home is where you feel safe and always welcome. Home is for you to make your own. Home means the world to me, and I hope for you, too.
