What Home Means to Me

To me home means family, a place where I can be myself and where I have everything I need. A house feels like a home when a it is safe and comforting. Your family should love you no matter what. A home is a place that holds the necessities of life. This is what home means to me. A family is what makes a home safe and comforting. It’s like a hot tub that you do not want to leave. The water surrounds you like an embracing hug. When I am feeling sad, I only have to open front door and my family is waiting for me. My family are my safe space. I wish everyone could have a family or a place where they feel safe. In my home I can be accepted for who I am. I want to be a doctor; I love to help people. My family doesn’t say discouraging things. Instead they encourage me to work harder. I also love crocheting. My family supports me and compliments my creations. I wish that everyone could be accepted for who they are. In my house I have everything that I need. In my home, I have my own room that has two windows. I like to think of them as the eyes of my room. Each window has a different outlook on the world just like I do. Even though I have my own space, the living room is my favourite place. It is where I get to see my family play and smell our delicious dinners. I hope someday everyone will experience this. So what does home mean to me? To me it means a place that is safe and comforting, where I’m not judged and where I have the supplies to have a good life. I want to share that feeling of home.
