What home means to me

“Home is where the heart is” I never understood that, I know that it’s a way of describing home it just doesn’t connect with me, so here is me describing my home in my words. When I say that my home is very bright, I don’t mean visually, I mean it as a feeling, a feeling of happiness and joy, a feeling of life and excitement. My home is very important to me, if I didn’t have my home I wouldn’t have that extra bit of comfort I need to get through my day. My home is somewhere I can just be me, no judgments, that’s really important to me because no matter how hard I try, I can’t fully be myself away from home. Inside my home, there is loads of love and safety, but to me, love and safety are pretty much the same things because I don’t feel safe without love. My family is a big part of my home, without my family there would be no light in my home. Sometimes my family fights and the light turns off for a bit, but if the light was always on, it would run out of power.
