Home means the world to me

Home is a place I can be myself, Where I don’t have to worry about anyone else. Home is a place I feel free, A place I can cheer with glee. Home is a place I feel on the top, Even when I feel as yucky as a bucket of slop. A place I can race through the halls, And see pictures of me when I was younger hung on the walls. A place I don’t have to worry, Even when things get as tough as trying to learn the quantum theory. A place I can reach for the stars, And dream about going to Mars. Home is somewhere I can spend quality time with my family, And bond with my neighbors happily. Home is somewhere I feel as calm as someone doing yoga, Where I can try new things, like drinking mocha. Home is somewhere I get my inspiration, And let out all of my frustrations. Home in my opinion is the best place to be, And it’s sad some people don’t have one, it’s true, you see. Some people don’t have a place to stay, When it’s as dark as the midnight sky or as bright as a sunny day. Some people don't have somewhere to be, When it’s so hot, it feels like a million degrees. Charities and Foundations trying to help out, By telling kids to write a poem about their home. So I don’t only write this poem to tell you about my home, But to also donate 10 dollars to someone who needs it the most. So, I’d like to ask, What does “home” mean to you? I know for a fact that, Home means the world to me.
