I See A House

I see a house… I walk inside when I am alone it does not feel like home. I go to the kitchen my mom is not there. She is not preparing her amazing meals. Making everyone smile. I walk downstairs my dad is not there. He is not there lifting his weights and working a sweat. I go back upstairs. My little brother is not playing with his toys. Crying and demanding my mom to get him a drink while her hands are already working on dinner. I go over to the dog crates the dog’s aren't there my brother isn’t there he is not laying there petting them. I walk upstairs to the last place to check. I walk into my bedroom and look at my bed my cat is not there. He is not in the place he rests day and night. I wonder why I feel so alone why this place does not feel like home. But then they walk through the door my mom goes to prepare dinner. My dad is downstairs lifting his weights. My little brother is crying. The dogs are in their crates with their favorite person petting them. My cat is fast asleep on my bed. Where he will be all night. I look around and I feel safe, I feel loved, and I feel happy I realize that all the people and things I love make this my home.
