What Home Means to Me

Home is a place where you can be yourself. A place where you can talk to others and a place where you can show your true feelings and be able to ignore all the negative comments from others. Home gives you lots of memories. The starry nights where people would have fun together, the arguments family would have, and the friendships that we would make in those family gatherings. At home, you could do anything you wanted given that it was safe and respectful, without being scolded by others saying that “it’s not girly and go wear your uniform”. Home would let you have freedom and forget about the countless worries of the world. Home can be many things like a house. Although a house might be a home, not all homes are houses. Homes can be anything from a cottage to an apartment but what truly defines a home is that you are loved and safe there. Home is a place where you can accomplish lots of things. It’s a place where you first learned how to walk and talk. Home gives you a safe place to learn from your mistakes. A place where you can take your time and breath. That is what home means to me.
