The Meaning of Home

Home is a safe place that I can depend on. It is where my family is together and is where we can be ourselves. Home does not just have physical objects or items it is a feeling, an expression. Love, safety, hope, courage and strength all is at home. A home can be a house but a house can not be a home. A house is a structure that provides physical warmth and necessities. A home is not only a structure but is an emotion and a mental feeling of warmth. A home is not necessarily a house it is anywhere that someone feels welcome: a boat, a tent, etc. The location of a home never changes. It is in your heart and it is a part of you. Home is people, not a place. It is where you are respected and cared for. Home is a place where my family is It’s welcoming, warm and kind It is full of hope and joy Memories and things I love At home there’s food to fix my hunger after a long day And drinks to quench my thirst When people ask me what I love My home is one thing that comes first I am lucky to have a house to stay A bed to sleep and a safe place to relax This is why I love my home
