What Home Means to Me

I walk in after school where I can smell my mom’s beautiful cooking of fish and some veggies I walk upstairs and I can still hear my mom cooking and on the phone with her beautiful laughter that’s what home means to me. I can hear my sister in her room watching a movie in the background that's what home means to me I can see the colour of my walls in my room a bright blue like the sea splashing on the sand that’s what home means to me. my home is where I can cry my home is like a rocking chair where it rocks you to sleep my home is somewhere I can feel free where I don’t have to worry about people judging me that’s what home means to me. my home means warmth and love my home means safety and happiness even though not everything is happy there are ups and downs highs and lows but that’s what home means to me. my home is what shapes me and what makes me grow that’s what home means to me. I wish people had a home - like me where they have a place to call home and be free that’s what home means to me.
