The Meaning of Home

Home is a place to feel safe and warm. In my home, I love the feeling of my cheek resting on my pillow when I go to sleep and the excitement of getting home after school and having a snack ready for me. A home is a place where I can talk about what is on my mind with my Parents because I know they are always there to listen. When I am home, I like to hang out with Murphy my dog, he is always so happy to see me. A dog means home to me because he makes me laugh. To me, home is the best place to go on adventures and to have fun. Home is building forts with as many blankets you can find, and playing Nerf wars with my older brother in the basement (with my Mom yelling for us to stop ;) A home to me is wearing my pajamas on a cold day and drinking hot chocolate by the fire. Home is playing games with my family and binge watching Netflix on a rainy day. A home is a safe place to go after having a hard day at school, especially if you’re Mom is there to give you a big hug. A home is a safe place to cry. A home is also the best place to be whoever you want, happy, scared, weird, silly and excited. All in all, I truly believe there is no place like home and everyone needs one.
