Lucky Me, I Have A Home

Every day when I wake up, I look in the mirror and say thank you to God for letting me have a home. I know that I am really lucky to be safe inside every single day. This house shelters me with the things and people I love, and that love me. I have a comfortable place to sleep at night. It is such a blessing to be one of those people to have a home. If I did not have a home, I would suffer from no protection. I would not have a roof over my little head. So I thank the Lord, that I am not stuck outside at night. Oh, how dark it would be with no light. How thankful I am to be in a safe place where no animals can attack me. I pray that God helps all those who have no shelter. I wonder about the people who don't have a home, and what it would mean to them if they could get one. My home is part of my family because it makes me smile. I have spent almost my whole life there. Although we are in a situation where we have to stay at home I am happy that I have one. Not everyone is as fortunate as me. I do not care what the dictionary has to say about "the definition of home," telling me it's an adjective or a noun and all those other "facts" because honestly, for me, home does not mean one thing; it means everything. My home is my blessing, my protection, and my family.
