The Meaning of Home

Home is a place where you feel belonged, where you feel special and can embrace your feelings, talents, skills, and hobby's and nobody makes fun of you for it. If they do, it is not your home. Home is a place where all your flaws, beauties, skills, and admirations are shown. Your house may not be your home. A house is made of cement, foundations, roof bricks and walls, but a home is made of memories, trust, friendships, and people you enjoy being with. Your home could be your school, your friend's house, your out of school classes, or school clubs, but for me, my house is my home, my house is where my good and bad memories lie, where Ive gotten over hardships and had fun, where I could say anything, where I do not have to worry about anything, and where I could just have fun, chill, and enjoy life. And that to me is the meaning of home. It is that one special place you feel connected to, where you feel safe and happy. Home is a haven for you, you are safe in that home. I have this little sign in my house. It says, “a house is made of walls and beams, but a home is made out of love and dreams” and that really came off on me while writing this. No matter what your sexuality is, no matter your gender, your pronouns, it is just a place where you feel like you belong. The one-word home. It can mean billions of different things to different people. But this is what it means to me. Home: a place where you feel special and loved. Where you can embrace everything about you.
