No Place Like Home

I can hear the door unlock, My mom walks in with my little dog. With a fresh haircut, smelling better than ever, She runs around the house, trying to find her toy. My home is somewhere where I feel safe. My home is my happy place. As my mom prepares dinner, my sister and I play video games together. My brother walks through the door, coming home from work, My dog brings us her toy, hoping someone would play. As my mom cleans up the kitchen, my dad asks us to help. The fresh smell of vanilla cupcakes, baking in the oven as we clean. I can hear the rain hitting the window softly, My home has a warm feeling that makes it cozy. Some people don't have a home, you see. Some people don't even have a family. It makes me sad to see people living on the streets. I hope one day they'll have a good meal to eat. A home to me is somewhere where I can read, Feeling safe and happy with my family. In the mornings, there's peace and quiet. My brother is off to work, so is my dad. My twin sister, my brother and I doing school online. My mom works hard in her office on her laptop. I'm grateful to have a home, And I'm grateful for my family. What are you grateful for? What would be one thing you want to change about the world?
