A house made of brick and stone A home made of heart and bone A house with my bedroom A home with clean water and food A house to keep me warm at night A home to keep me in the light A house and a yard to play A home and a feeling that will stay A feeling of love, joy, and fun A feeling of warmth from the sun A feeling of how lucky you are A feeling that's come so far A house where you can sleep and rest A home for your family who are the best A home where you are loved and safe A home is not just a place A home's a space I am grateful for Home's not just a place. It's so much more At home I feel clouds in the sky At home I feel like I could fly When a chickadee sings, I feel at home In a hockey rink, I feel at home When I am with my friends, I feel at home When I am with my family, I feel at home When I see someone who loves me, I feel at home When I see someone who I love, I feel at home When I sing a song with heart, then I feel at home When I feel at home I know this is a feeling others need to know So I write a poem to tell of my home But out there there are other homes. Homes not like mine I know some need a home and I hope they find A home to be safe And people who are kind Please be smart And remember home is in your heart
