What home means to me

Home is more than a building; it is where love is made and shared with family and friends. It's where laughter is made and joy is shared. When I think of home I know I'm safe from robbers and bad guys. When I think of home I know that I have something to eat where many people don't. When I walk through the door I'm greeted by my dog. She normally jumps on me but when she calms down she’s very nice to snuggle with. My sound of home is my dog’s bark and my dad’s loud laughter through the room. I have a special place in my house. It's in the basement where I can rollerblade to take away my worries. My smell of home is my mom's baking and my dad's coveralls that smell like pig poop. Home is where you can share secrets with your family who supports you. The reason why I'm writing this is not that I want to win the prize but to help the homeless.
