What Home Means to Me

Home is what helps my family bring my family together and stay dry and safe. We get to have some privacy if we need to be alone. If I am sad or I am having a bad day I have my home to go to. I can go to my room and cry. When I get home from school I have a happy mom and a nice, warm home that is full of love and happiness. I have a lot of memories in my home as I grew up there; like when I learned to walk and learned to care for others in need. There are many memories in every room I enter and I would hate to let them go. My home is where I have my fun and can celebrate Christmas, Halloween, my birthday, Easter, Valentines Day, and Saint Patrick's Day. My house is where I feel like me and I feel safe, like nothing will happen to me and my family. Sometimes I get scared because, what if my home burns down or it collapses? I don't know how it feels to have nothing; no home, no food, nothing. If I saw someone with nothing I would give them some money so they can get something to eat or wear. I think in my head, what if I was poor and had nothing? I want to help all the homeless people but I can’t. I get sad seeing movies or videos with people that are homeless and get treated badly because they are homeless. It makes me cry to hear on the news that homeless people are getting killed from other people. So that is what my home means to me. It means a lot!
