Meaning of Home

When I’m at home, I feel safe and loved by my Mom, Dad, sister and dog and I hope that they feel the same way. When my parents leave or my sister or even my dog, I start to feel sad and sometimes even cry. Because they mean the world to me. I’m so thankful for my parents because they feed me, let me play sports like hockey and soccer, they provide me with everything I need. I’m thankful for my sister because when I’m bored I ask her if she wants to play and she usually says yes, some kids don’t have a sister or brother to play with that’s why I’m grateful for her. I’m grateful for my dog because when I’m feeling sad, he licks me or cuddles with me. Home isn’t just a building you recognize, home is where your family is and that’s all that matters. I see me, my dad and my sister watching a hockey game on the TV. My mom burning a candle at both ends to make us a yummy dinner and she’s watching at the same time. Also I see my dog drinking his water. I smell my mom cooking away in the kitchen and all of the amazing smells of the spices. And the smell of my favorite peppermint candle. And I smell the fresh cut grass. I hear my sister playing her music loud, it is like a siren. And my parents laughing downstairs. Also my dog running for his toy, but I was just pulling his leg because I never threw his toy. I touch my comfy couch that feels like a sheep and my little dog that feels like a fluffy pillow. I feel a cool breeze coming out from my door. And I feel my dog chewing on his favorite bone. I taste noodles cooking. And the taste of the fruitiness of my plants near my sink. In conclusion, I love my family so, so much and my beautiful home that I have, so thank you Habitat for Humanity for letting other people have the same thing that I have.
