Home isn't Just a Place.
Home isn’t just a place; it’s also a classroom where the most valuable lessons are taught by the most valuable people to you, it’s where the warm hugs and nonstop tears embrace you.
My shared bedroom is like an oasis of chaos; this is where all the secret snacks and late-night gossip hide, waiting to be uncovered when the sun sets.
You see that old brown table? That’s the one that holds the smells of all your favourite dishes and the pencil marks of when you got overstimulated while studying for a math test.
Home isn’t just a building, on the surface you might think it’s just a place where you eat, sleep and play, but it’s more like a movie theatre where all your favourite moments with family are played.
Maybe you could think of your home as a storybook; you have no idea of what kind of stories are hidden in the walls — stories of the families that have lived right here, in the place you call home before you.
Or maybe to you, home is all the tears you cried when you lost someone you loved, and the feeling of disappointment when it was time to leave your home away from home in a faraway place.
Think of your home not as just a type of shelter but as a type of support, where you are loved just the way you are and when something ever upsets you your home is like your secret lair, where you can receive any type of discomfort the way you want and express yourself anyway you want knowing that at home you will always have someone that has you back.
When the raindrops patter on your window, home is the excitement of staying with the people you love; it’s the most comforting getaway, your home is a shield, sheltering you from the weeping clouds.
So, to me, home isn’t just a place, it’s where all my favourite people are, it’s where I feel most loved, supported and understood, and it’s where every day is a brand new start to endless adventures.
