How I feel at home

When I was little my parents broke up and I was devastated. I felt like nothing would ever be the same. I thought that my whole life would change forever but I was wrong. What I like about my mom’s home is the joy the laughter and smiles. Without that, it would be a sad, dark, and empty place. I feel welcome and included. That is how I know I belong there. What I like about my dad’s home is his lovely cooking. The minute I step into the room I smell my dad’s cooking, filling up the room. I feel appreciated and loved. That is how I know I belong there. Last year I got my dog at three months old. Now he is one year old. His name is Finn, and he fills up the room with excitement, love, and joy. When he licks my face, he makes me feel at home. I love that he’s always excited and wants to play. I do not know what I would do without my little pup. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for the time and care that you put into building homes for people that do not have one. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity, people's lives happily changed forever.
