House vs Home
A house is just empty rooms, and it's dark and lonely, while a home has full rooms with beds and toys, and it's bright and full of people you love. A house has bare, colourless walls and empty spaces where siblings and pets should be. But a home has colourful , full walls with pictures of past memories, like a vacation or school photos. A home has pets like dogs and cats chasing you through the halls, and siblings to play with. A house is quiet, cold, and uncomfortable, it's sad and it feels like nothing. A home is full of laughter and fighting and it's warm and comfortable, it's your safe place and where you feel loved and where your family is. It could also be where your friends are.
Home is my favourite foods like home made poutine, and pizza, and desserts like ice cream and home cooked cakes and cookies. A home and a house are very different, but you can always turn a house into a home if you put enough work into it. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity to participate in your contest!
