What home means to me
Home means many different things. It can be a person, place or thing, but sadly not everyone has a home, and this is called homelessness. Since 2020 prices, taxes and homelessness rates have gone up in cost due to a lot of different things. One of them and the main one I'm going to talk about is because of our country’s debt.
Since the Ukrainian war began we have given them 23.5 billion dollars. Also I am aware that it is a small amount compared to other loans, but as we continue giving money and spending more than necessary we fall farther into debt and we can’t increase what we pay people and it becomes harder for people to pay taxes.
Causing them to have to work multiple jobs, which can cause anxiety, depression and a lot of other mental issues which makes people less capable of doing their job. Which can cause them to get fired or have to quit. Which then leads to homelessness.
One of the reasons why people can’t even afford an apartment and become homeless is because usually apartments are privately owned, which leads to higher costs and due to inflation now they’re even more expensive. But government-owned apartments are cheaper, and you might think, “Wow! a solution!” But no, again, due to the financial state of this country, those will probably also be super expensive.
Which is why the only way to help homelessness and provide affordable prices for housing, food and other essentials, is to cut back on government loaning to other countries. Because the more we think we're helping, the more we're digging our own grave and making homelessness worse. Before we help others we need to help ourselves.
