If Home Were the Five Senses

Home is where I feel safe and relaxed. If home was the sense of smell, it would smell of soup for dinner in the kitchen. I would be able to smell the furniture that smells of wood in the living room. If I were sleeping in my room, I would smell the detergent in my blankets and pillow. If home was the sense of sight, I would see my family on the couch all snuggled up. I would see my brother clutching his stuffy. I would see the bookshelf in the living room. I would see the family photos in the beautiful frame on the shelf. In the picture, I would see my family’s lovely smile. If home was in the sense of hearing, I would hear the laughter coming from my family after a joke. I would hear my brothers’ talking to each other when they were playing with their Lego in their Lego scene. If home was in the sense of taste, it would taste like tomatoes in the tomato sauce in the delicious pasta. It would taste like the crunchy toast during breakfast. It would taste of sweet honey on the toast. It would taste like warm soup with chicken, potatoes and pumpkin. If home were in the sense of touch, it would feel like the soft, fuzzy, cozy material of my pillow. I would feel the squishy stuffy. If home was a touch, it would feel like the warm, running water from the tap while washing my hands. I am very lucky to have running water for some people don’t. If home was an emotion, I would feel safe, relaxed, calm, peaceful, especially with my family. I hope everyone’s home can also be that way.
