What Home Means to Me
My home to me means a safe, warm and cozy place for me and my family to live in. It brings us together, it has pictures from different places at different times and memories from the past. It feels like a protective and warm blanket around me. I can see my household sitting together and playing a board or a card game and I can see and hear my relatives playing songs and singing and dancing to them. I can hear my family laughing together on the couch and sharing funny and loving memories of the past. I can smell the delicious foods that my mom cooks in the kitchen everyday. I can taste the delicious foods that my mom cooks with my family in the dining area. The smell and taste of the food is as warm as my family hugging each other tightly. I can feel the warmth and coziness of my family as if it was a warm blanket around me and my household. Whenever I look out the window of my car or my home, I can see people who are poor and who can't afford homes are walking outside and asking people for some money. I can feel warm in the winter and cold in the summer in my home while people who don’t have homes feel cold. People who can’t afford homes and other essentials that you need deserve those things to stay safe. A home is not just a building for people to live in. A home is a place where you can feel safe and be together with your relatives and that is where Habitat for Humanity comes in. Habitat for Humanity offers homes to people who can’t afford them.
