What Home Means to Me
Home means that I have safety all around me. I can smell cooking on the stove and know my mom is making delicious foods that I can taste and savor. I am grateful that I can smell flowers from my plants all around me instead of smoke. I have a family that I love, trust, and feel safe with. My family includes my mom, dad and brother. We play board games and card games on weekends. I enjoy a Chinese game that involves cards and jokers. Sometimes we even watch movies and eat popcorn, chips and candy. Movies that I have watched are Avatar 1-3 and How to Train a Dragon. My mom helps me with hard problems in life and problems in life that are not in the real world. My dad makes me laugh when I’m sad and keeps me happy when I’m happy. My brother keeps the family together with his jokes. He talks a lot and sometimes talks a little too much. I know that I can trust my family with anything. I am joyful that I have a family that I can care for. I feel happy that I have clean water to drink and healthy foods to eat which keeps my body healthy. I have a bedroom where I can do whatever I want. It has my bed, clothes, and stuffies. I can hear laughter in the air and the sound of happy talking. I have electronics which helps me do things like practice math, English and science. This is very important for my knowledge. I see lots of colours like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink. Being surrounded by so many beautiful colours brings joy, calmness and safety and I know that I belong.
