The Meaning of Home

To me, the meaning of home is family, for example spending time with my Mom and Dad and playing with my hamster Cookie. Together as a family playing board games, my favourite is Monopoly. We also like watching movies on the weekends and staying up late. We begin with stacking up fluffy warm blankets and big pillows while having treats like popcorn. The sounds that make me feel at home are laughter, and the sound my hamster makes when he is burring in his hay and running on his wheel. At my home I smell cookies and yummy food. I like baking desserts and playing various card games with my mom. I am grateful that I have my own bedroom where I can go to cry and laugh and feel like whatever I want. When I walk into my room I see colorful things around me that make me calm and happy. At my home I feel happy, safe, sad, and joyful. I am grateful that I have such caring, kind, thoughtful, and loving parents. I enjoy my balcony where I can chill on the comfy couch. I like making different types of art to express myself and display it in my room. My dad enjoys drawing with me and teaching me how to be better at art, math, and many other things. There are loads of paintings on my walls. When I walk into the kitchen I see my mom cooking delicious food and she always lets me try it and share my thoughts. Home is everything. I am grateful that I have a safe and warm home, and a family that makes me feel loved and cared for. I also know that I can trust my parents with my hopes and dreams.
