Every twist, Every turn, Every climb and plummet, It all leads home. American. Canadian. Called to both, Answered by one. An odyssey west, From peaks and valleys, To the land of the west, To the Golden State. Home is protection From the storms of the world. A warm hearth to comfort our souls, A constant flow of warmth. From grade to grade, Bonds are broken. But ties are made, Yet friends remain the same. Through grades, Through schools, Home changes, However stays the same. Home stays warm. Home stays fuzzy. Stronger than iron, Protective as parents. A crack and nothing more, A home no more. A ravine separates Me from the land of the 49ers. We fly east Across a border. A new country. A new life.
