If Home Were a Feeling, it Would Be Happy
Home means love and family. Home is not just a place with a roof and a place to stay. The people inside are the centerpieces. Home means snuggling up with my family on cold winter nights. Home means coming home to warming hugs from my mom and dad. Home means the funny and hard times. It’s the wave of memories that brings us together. Whether that’s sitting on the couch or having family times we’re always together. Another thing that makes my home perfect is that it’s my safe place where I feel special. My room is part of it too. It’s where I can be myself. When I get home from school my sister and I go hang out in my room, but I’m always distracted by my mom’s awesome cooking. My favorite food that my mom makes is her awesome stirfry or her home-made waffles. I love those. Waking up to them is awesome. My dad’s pasta skills—I can’t even tell you how yummy they are! They are top notch. Another memory about my family is movie nights. We make pizza, chips and popcorn. We watch movies from the olden days. They always make me laugh. In the summer my sister and I make up games. Those games may be small, but they are moments I’ll always remember. My favorite memories are when my dad makes those dad jokes that aren’t funny, but I always laugh. I’m glad my school is supporting Habitat for Humanity! Everyone deserves a home like mine. It doesn’t matter the size or how beautiful. Thank you Habitat for Humanity
