A Home
A home is not just a building with walls or a place where you sleep. A home is where you should feel safe, brave, relaxed and motivated. A home is where you can build memories, have a good laugh, and, most importantly, you should feel loved. In the morning, after a good night's sleep, I open my window and smell the great outdoors, then I get dressed in my clean clothes. I smell my dad making breakfast. I see my mom making me and my brother lunch. When I leave for school, I miss my home. At school, when I am alone, I love to come and see my home. When I get home after a long, rough day, I’m happy that I have a home filled with supportive people and things I love. After a day of playing boring games, I get tucked into bed, and they make sure I’m fed. Some homes have a big backyard with a fun trampoline or maybe a big pool, or maybe you don’t have a backyard, and you have a basement filled with dance bars or maybe even a hockey rink. A home is where you should feel safe and loved.
This is why I am thankful for my home.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for not just building a house but for building a safe home.
