Not Just a Building

Home is a safe place to go, a place to be loved. Whether your culture is different or your skin is a different colour, home is a safe place to be; no one can take that away. To me, home is a place to be. I love to play and dance, and my family makes me feel safe. I can talk to my family about the sweet and sour. To me, my family makes my home; without my family, I would be lost. Home is protection, whether it is a building, a tent, or even the arms of your mom or dad. A home isn’t only a building; it is a place to feel loved. A home is a collection of memories that you can look back on. Home and family are something no one could ever buy. The dinner table is a place to eat the food that warms you. Every bite tells a story of how the plants were grown or raised, just like you; everybody has a story to tell. The living room is a place to talk, play, and hang out, and the office is a place where my family can play the piano and express ourselves. Home makes me feel warm and loved. Home isn’t just a place; it is family. Whether they are here with you or have begun a new journey into the next life, home is family, pets, and friends. Home is where you and I belong.
