A Key to a Wonderful Home

We all need a key, and I found it. My home is special. Home isn’t a place where you just sleep. It’s where you should be grateful. I see my mom in the morning waving goodbye to me and my dad. I see my mom hugging me and my dad goodbye. I see my dad playing uno with me. I see my mom cooking. I see our fireplace, my parents laughing, and YouTube shorts on the tv and shows and movies. I hear the special music that my mom plays. Me and my dad love it. It can be hip hop or jazz. I also hear some languages like German, Filipino, and a little bit of French. I hear my mom & dad laughing at my joke! I hear love, talking, my mom and dad cheering for the Winnipeg jets, joy, kindness. I hear the tv, the alarm clock in the morning, singing in the car, and laughing. Whenever we smell her food, like my mom’s spaghetti and lasagna or chicken burgers, it’s like a reminder to come to the dinner table. Supper is a special time for me and my family to spend time together. I also smell our fireplace and lavender from my mom’s candles. Oh and my dad’s favourite, popcorn. What do I taste… white rice, fried rice, chicken alfredo, spring rolls, fruit, and M&M cookies. I feel safe, loved, joyful, relaxed, happy. We should all feel that way. You should also treat people nicely! I love my home and you should too. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving so many people a key to a home. We are so grateful for what you do!
