Home is Where I Feel Comfortable
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not have a home? What would it feel like? Would you be happy? Would you even be able to survive? To me, home is much more than just a house. It is a place where I feel safe, loved, and free to grow into the person I want to be. Home represents my family, my friendships, my community and comfort.
First of all, when I think of home, I think of my family. Home is where we spend time together, laugh together, and create traditions that I will remember forever. Every Friday night, my family has a movie night. My brothers and I debate over what to watch, which can take a while, but we always agree in the end. We eat popcorn and candy, sit close together, and enjoy the time we share. Even when we traveled to Costa Rica for a week, the place we stayed felt like home because we were together. Home is filled with the smells of food cooking in the kitchen, the sound of conversation around the dinner table, and memories that grow stronger every year.
Secondly, home includes my friends and community. My house is where my friends come to play mini sticks, swim in my pool, or play video games. We laugh, compete, and make unforgettable memories. Beyond my house, my community also feels like home. Whether I am helping at the local food bank or skating at the community rink, I feel connected and supported. These places have helped shape who I am.
Finally, home is a feeling of safety and belonging. It can be my house, a sports field, school, or my grandparents’ home. I am very lucky to have my home. What do you think of your home?
