What home means to me

Home means to me when I see my mom giving me a warm welcome, when I come home from school. I feel the warmness of my mom, when she kisses my head, like when my dad makes freshly baked cookies. I smell the bread my mom made, like it's a bakery, waiting to be eaten. I taste my dinner, like it’s an award, it feels like when my brother and I roast marshmallows outside, and make smores with my dad. I hear my writing, on my pencil, when I do my homework, like when my mom comforts me when I'm feeling down, scratching my head, and wiping my tears. Home means to me when I’m with my family and when my family and I watch a movie together, and everyone should have a home too so they can feel that way all the time. Home also means to me when my family all get together and celebrate, have fun, eat, and reunite. Everyone should have a home so they can celebrate their traditions, and finally have a safe place to stay. Home is like a safe haven, like when you come home from a bad day at school, and when you get home, you calm down, and everything is better. It is better because your parents are waiting for you, ready to comfort you, and always makes you feel better when you are feeling down. When I come home, I always feel welcome and safe with my family. Everyone should feel safe with their family and always feel welcome. When I go outside my home, I feel the breeze on my face, hear the birds chirping, and feel the grass with my fingers. When my family and I leave home to go on a roadtrip or vacation, even though we left home, it still feels like home, because I am with my family, and it is a blessing that we can even go on trips. Everyone should feel that way, when they go on trips. I am grateful for my family, and a roof over my head, and everyone should have a roof over their head too.
