It’s Not Just Bricks That Make A Home

Have you ever thought about a home being a building with windows and a roof? That's not a home that's a house. A home is a place where you make memories, tell stories, and share love and laughter. Each and every thing in your house is a piece of the greater making of your home. Look at your bedroom, what do you see? I see a portal into a good book, a comfy place to express your feelings after a great day and reflect on happy memories in your journal, or sharing a hard day with a family member just before bed. Those memories build you up like the bricks that hold up the walls of your home. My basement is like a campfire, where we gather for warmth. If it is Friday movie night or just a plain Sunday afternoon, it always brings us together. We share fun times, dances and laughter that keep the home standing. Our kitchen would be a cement mixer if cement were delicious foods and delightful essences that we eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These amazing foods are always filling us up, to make sure our home is smooth flowing with no cracks or breaks. Our home's walls are like photobooks waiting to be opened, like a treasure chest keeping and sharing awesome memories, and telling stories of past moments in picture frames. They remind us of the fun times we've spent with a lost family member or a special pet, granting us and our home strength and courage. Our home is a cozy blanket that wraps around us, shielding us from the harshest weathers, and protecting us from negative spirits. If it's a snow storm, a hurricane, or even just a rainy day we are always sheltered. Take a look at your home again, is it still just made of bricks, or is it a place that consists of portals, a connector, a cement mixer of goods, and a memory photobook, “Because it's not just bricks that make a home.
