What Home Means to Me
People around the world think that home is a really nice place to live. Home is a place where you can feel safe or be with your family safely. Home is a habitat for us to live in with memories of happiness and joy. Home is like a house that is what most people think. They are right… Home is also where you are from and where your family is from, like your parents and grandparents and the people who came before them. Home is where your family's ways and beliefs and history come from like the food you eat and the things you believe in your culture, your religion and the things that make you who you are. Home is a place where you feel safe and comfortable. It is where you are with the people you love and care about. You have a lot of memories there. Home is also where you can be yourself without worrying about what others think. It is not a house with a roof.
Home is also like the culture you grow up with. The culture is like a part of who you are. It is the things you do. The way you live makes you feel like you belong. This includes what you eat for dinner, the language you speak at home, the kind of clothes you like to wear, the type of music you like to listen to and the special days you celebrate with your family. Home and culture are much connected to the way you live your life and the things that make you happy. Your culture helps shape who you are and connects you to your family and community.
