What Makes My House A Home
My home is my happy place where no one feels pallid,
A welcoming space where all our feelings are valid.
My calming place where I can simply be myself,
A place to safely feel my emotions like nowhere else.
The mouthwatering foods in the kitchen and dining room carry our love,
From sweet cookies to sauerkraut and sourdough, every bite rises above.
We ferment our honey and nourish our minds,
Through wholesome conversations about our latest reads and finds.
Everything in our home reflects who we are,
The beeswax candles and plants show our love for nature near and far.
In and out of our home, we show kindness to the earth,
By getting our hands in the mud and dirt.
The basement is a special love of mine,
So playful, cheerful and divine.
The big ball bouncing on the wall keeps me enticed,
While the swing swaying to and fro leaves me mesmerized.
The laughter and joy from the living room when we play board games or sing karaoke is infectious,
And the time we spend reading as a family and sharing our experiences is precious.
My house protects me from the physical elements and things I can see,
My home protects my emotions and energy.
A house is a place with a roof and four walls,
A home is a feeling of safety and love for us all.
My home is my haven, where I live happily,
And what makes my house a home is my family.
