Home is everything to me

Home is everything to me. It’s comfort, happiness, joy. Home isn't just a shelter or storage, it's who you're with in your house, neighbourhood, school or job. The people who live with you in your house, can make you feel different emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, excitement and much more. They can make your heart warm, they can make anger run through your body, but truly, without them you don’t have a home. Without your kind old neighbour or annoying 3 year old neighbour, your neighbourhood, it just won't feel like home. Without your favourite teacher, or best friend, school won't feel like home. Home is a judgment free space. Take your kitchen for example, it's filled with foods that you like, memories that you have. Same with your room, memories that are yours. Even at school, or work, memories. Home is a warm fire on the coldest night, the shade on a sunny day, or a bucket of popcorn in the movie theatre. It's where you feel safe enough to talk, safe enough to do what you love, and the people there, make you feel so much safer. If you think you don't have anybody, think again, and remember all the people that have been kind to you over the years, also remember wherever you feel safe, is home. Thank you for reading my “what home means to you” writing assignment.
