The meaning of home to me

*sigh* *sigh. I hurriedly took off my boots, ZAP ZAP, zipped open my jacket, and absolutely RIPPED my snowpants off. “ *sigh*. Ahh…. I’m finally home.” I say. My mom and Dad greet me with a warm hello. My Mom is so kind, gentle, and hardworking! Meanwhile my Dad provides a nice, warm, home to live in, food, water, and much more! When my brothers come home from school, all the 5 of us sit down, and have a feast. “Mhmm, YUM!” My brothers always annoy me, making me wanna yell, but Dad’s wise, gentle words guide us to go through the right path. My parents sometimes take us swimming in the rec centre, and also Launchpad as well. And at home, we celebrate Ramadan, Eid, and much more! In Ramadan, my family makes this wonderful, creamy treat, called “Fruit chart”. Fruit chart is a dish with some cream, and fruits like, Apples, bananas, and strawberries! Ramadan is also a month where you fast from sunrise to sunset. You repeat that for a month. Sometimes you do this for 29, 30, or 31 days! Before you fast, you have to wake up at Fajr (5:00am) or later. And at sunset, you break your fast with dates, and with milk too. Then we have our iftar (dinner)!! After a month, we celebrate Eid! Eid is where children can get eidi (a gift where kids can get money, or toys). Everyone takes a nice warm shower, and we wear fresh, new clothes. We go to Eid parties, and hang out with friends and family! My home makes me feel safe, and calm, as if I don’t have to be scared. And the reason is, because I KNOW that I have my friends, and family who never leave my side, and cheer me up when I’m sad. In my opinion, I’m very lucky to have a home. In my opinion, I’m very lucky to have a home, because there are a lot of people around the world who have a toxic household, or don’t even have a home, and they end up going to a shelter.
