Home is not a house

Home is not a house; it is not a roof over your head but the family, feelings, sounds and smells inside. Home is the feeling deep inside your heart. It is like a warm, protective blanket wrapped around me. Home is the place where I feel most supported and unconditionally loved. It is where I can learn and try new things without fear. Home is a judgement free zone. It is where I can be my most creative, silly self. Home is like a picture book, it tells a story. It is where memories are made. Every creaky step, every stain on the carpet, every room is a reminder of giggles, tears and hugs. Home is all of my favourite things. It is the smell of my favourite foods cooking in the kitchen. It is the sound of my favourite songs blasting. It is Friday movie nights and lazy, cuddly Sundays. It is goofing off with my brother, painting my nails with mom and building forts with daddy. Home is my dance studio, art gallery and beauty salon all in one. Home is freedom like wild horses running in a field. It is where I am my happiest, my wildest and my most free. Home is love.
