Home
What is a home, one may ask? Did you know that millions of children around the world are asking themselves this same question right now? Well, here’s the answer.
Home can be many different things. To me, home can be the library, where I spend most of my recesses, or home can be my bedroom, where I sleep every day.
You know, home is kind of like where you remember all your memories. It’s that one place where every time you step in, you remember that homemade spaghetti your mom cooked for you the other day, or the day you finally beat your dad at Monopoly. It’s where all your memories are created.
Home is also the place where everyone accepts you the way you are. It’s where you can be youreself and pull off all of your wonky dance moves. It’s where people won’t judge when you escape your comfort zone.
When you make a mistake in your home, nobody’s going to get mad at you. They’re going to forgive, and help you be a better person!
Ever since the day I left my childhood home, I still remember the heart-wrenching feeling I had when I had to pack all my toys and close the door for the last time. Because home isn’t just a place. It’s where I’m safe and cared for. It’s where I’m loved and where I belong. It’s where all my happy memories are with my family.
So that’s a definition of home. It’s not that building you live in, but it’s the place where you are cared for, where you belong, and where all your memories are. It’s me, the way I am. It’s where our family rotates around, like how all the planets rotate around the Sun.
