Home
Home. To most people, home is the place where they said their first words. Home is the place where they took their first steps. Home is the place where their parents raised them and carefully cared for them. Home is a place filled with love and joy. But that’s not all home is. Home is somewhere you feel safe. It could be a corner, a room, a library, a park. Home is a place where you don’t have to worry about being judged or meeting unreasonable expectations. Home is the place where you go when you’re lost. Home is somewhere the darkness can never reach. Home is somewhere you go when you're scared, lonely, tired of everything. Home isn’t just a house, it hardly ever is. And those whose houses are filled with love, joy, happiness, and comfort should be grateful that they can call those structures their home. Grateful that they don’t have to run away or hide to finally feel at home. To feel safe. To feel comforted. Those who can call their houses home are truly blessed. But the sad truth is not everyone has that blessing.
