Home

Home feels like a place where I belong, Where the lights are low and it feels warm, It’s where I can rest when the day feels long, And I wake up to my mom’s alarm. Home is the sound of the old front door, Closing softly at the end of the night, Its coats, and shoes placed neatly on the floor, And staying up late at night with the bright TV light. Home feels like a comfy bed and familiar food, Like something perfect that I carry with no shame, It’s where my worries don’t feel so huge, And even bad days don’t feel the same. Home is a feeling that sticks with me, Not just walls or a place to start, It’s where I can be totally free, And I carry feeling inside of me.
