Knowing My Home

The feeling of my home is like no other. Every home is different. Some big, some small, some tall or short, all of these are still homes. The feeling that my home gives me when I walk in after a long day of school is that I’m safe. I know the people around me. If danger is coming, my family will protect me because they care about me. There is nothing unknown in my home. I know every nuck and crany. I understand the rules in the back of my head. I don’t have to think if the thing I’m doing is right or wrong, I’m just aware of it. I’m comfortable in my home. I realize that I can be myself and no one will make fun of me. I can do my favourite sports with an amazing family behind my back. They will support me through the whole journey. I’m used to everything, even just the littlest things. I comprehend where everyones spot on the couches are for movie nights. I’ve memorized where every squeaky floor board is, and when my mom and dad go to bed. Every time we watch a movie, we are aware of where everyone sits. It’s the same every time, and there’s never any complaining. Home isn’t the physical building to me, to me home is how you feel in that place. When I’m comfortable and feel like I can be myself somewhere, that place feels like home. When I am at my cousin’s house, it feels like home I’m home. I’m aware of the rules there, I don’t act like a different person there, I act like myself. I know that I am safe there and if there is danger, they will protect me and I will protect them. I feel loved and special there. Home is the feeling not the building. At my home, all my memories are stored there. I grew up in my home. When I learned something new it was at my home. I have good and bad memories here, like, fighting with my siblings and and having the best movie night ever. Home is my comfort and safe place. I don’t know what I would do without my home.
