What Home Means to Me
When I come home from a tough day of school, my nose is filled with the smell of home made soup and bread. My parents greet me and ask me about my day. Home isn’t the building you live in, it’s where there's your family, pets and people who care about you. It's where you feel safe and where you celebrate and follow traditions.
I remember a time when I scraped my knee on the hard top in grade 2. When I came home, my family made me feel safe and helped my knee get better. Home is not just one place, it's where people care for you. When I went to pre-school for the first time I was nervous but the people were kind to me and made me feel welcomed. It felt great knowing that I was cared for. This made me realize that home can be in many places.
In the end I now understand that home is where my family is. It’s also the couch where my dad and I play Mario kart, the kitchen where my mom and I bake muffins and the basement where my sister and I make forts and play ball hockey. In conclusion, this is what home means to me.
