Home Isn’t Just A “House”

As I step into my home, I feel warm and calm. My mom comes to me, gives me a big hug, and greets me. I smell my mom’s food calling me to eat it. I see my books sitting on the counter, waiting to be opened. My home isn’t just a place where I sleep, eat, and watch TV. It’s where I always feel included, loved, and safe. It’s where I laugh and cry. It’s where I go after a long day to cheer up. Home is a place where the people who care most about me play and spend time with me. I remember when my parents got me the best birthday gift ever. They gave me a giant teddy bear because they know how much I love big stuffies. I don’t think anyone else would have thought to get me a giant teddy bear. Only my family knows what I really want. When they gave it to me, they made me feel truly loved and cared for. So home isn’t just a house. It’s where I belong and where I can be myself, where the smell of my mom’s cooking dances through the house every day. Home is where we share stories and make lifelong memories with my family, surrounded by love and comfort.
