The Meaning of Home
I ride the bus back home after a long day. I step inside, I smell food cooking and can hear my dogs playing energetically . Home is not just a house, home is a place where you feel loved, safe, and content .Home is a place where your family and pets are. Home is a place where you feel welcome. Home can be anywhere as long as you feel welcome there. Home can be where you live, but home will really always mean this to me.
I remember a day when I was five years old and I was playing in the sand pit and my mom was there. Suddenly I saw a sand hill and smashed it. Wasps spilled out and stung and bit me a lot. My mom rushed out and grabbed me, laid me down, put ice on my hands and comforted me well she heeled my hands. This made me feel at home because my mom helped me and comforted me.
Now I understand that home is not just a house, home can be a feeling, a friend, and family. As long as you are welcome and safe or at home you are at home. Home can be anything and anywhere. But this is what home means to me.
