The Meaning of Home

Tap-Tap-Tap my mom is waking me up “No stop let me go back to sleep” I yawn. Then I smell the French toast just waiting for me to eat it without a second thought. I leap from my bed and scramble to get dressed. Then I spotted the area where we played monopoly last night. I finished my delicious breakfast. I went to the fire and it felt like a warm cozy hug. “Oh here comes the bus. I need to get my snow gear on!” I get a warm welcome from my friends on the bus. They ask me questions like a dog barking at a squirrel. Later, my friend cracks a joke and it makes us all laugh like crazy. I feel at home. “That was a good yolk.” “You got a good crack at it.” We get to school. My friends and I talk about the schedule. I feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. It feels like home. Through this experience I learnt that home is not just the house you live in, it's the friends and family you surround yourself with. No matter where I go as long as I go with my friends, parents, and my brother I feel at home.
