Home Is a Place for Me to Go
Home is a place for me to go, with lots and lots of hugs and love. I feel just right when I’m at home. If you look in my home, you can find joy, happiness and oodles of yummy food. On the wall, there are pictures of my whole family, laughing and smiling. When I look at the pictures, I can see younger versions of me, and it brings me glee. In my room, there is my giant bed, and it's filled with all my stuffies and soft toys. Each stuffie carries a memory. My tiger, Silver, reminds me of my grandpa, who gave me the beloved stuffie. As a young kid, I received a lot of stuffies, so I have lots of memory-preserving stuffies. During the summer, my brother and I play in the backyard, and I swim to my heart's content. I love to swim in my pool and splash with my family. Sometimes, my friends come over, and we sit on floaties, laughing and talking. In the winter, we play in the snow, where we find giant chunks of ice to keep. When I was younger, I thought that home was just another way of saying the word house. But now I know that isn't true. Home is where you feel safe; where you feel happy. It's comfortable, and it's also filled with warm smiles. My home will always be with my loving family. That's why I’m really glad Habitat for Humanity exists. Everybody deserves a home, to be cared for, to spend time with their favourite people. People might try to show off fancy houses and fancy furniture, but that doesn't matter. The people and the love they show do. So thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for making the world happier for families in need.
