What is Home?

What is home? Home. A place where the kitchen smells like freshly baked cookies. A place where the fireplace grows with a welcoming crackle and a cozy environment surrounds. Maybe there's siblings and aunts and uncles. But I know a home isn't where you feel scared of the people who are in it. It's not where you feel neglected. Or where it's empty. Empty doesn't always have to mean unfurnished, it can mean there's no memories, there's no laughter and there's no love. For me, my home, it's my safe space, where I can laugh and have fun. The movie nights where I eat buttery popcorn while we watch comedy movies . But home can always be somewhere else. It doesn't need to be a house. It could be anywhere if you feel you belong there. Home could always be different for everyone . And for me, my home is with my family, and I know I'm welcomed there.
