The True Meaning Of Home
To me, home isn’t a building or a place on earth. Home is a feeling, a place where we seek comfort, a place where darkness meets the light, a place where we make memories. These feelings, this comfort that you feel , these memories that you make, you don’t get these things anywhere but home. It doesn't matter where your home is or how it looks, what really matters is the incomparable happiness, the feeling of safety, and the love you get at home.
When I first heard the word home, I thought it was a place on earth where there’s a roof over your head and you get to eat, sleep, and live in it. But over time I realized that home is such an amazing place to be, such a lovely feeling you get. Today, when I come back from school, I take a step inside my home and I feel the warmth of the walls, that feeling of comfort, and when my dad cracks a silly joke we all laugh and when I hear that laughter it makes me so incredibly happy. When I look at the pictures on our walls it feels so good that maybe I might even cry out tears of joy. Sometimes, I might just happen to see a video of when I was younger and I show it to my mom and dad and we all break into laughter and start chuckling.
Home is a beautiful place to be. It's like a journey you make, a word that has no set definition. Ultimately, home is not home without that feeling of safety, the unwavering support from your loved ones, and the people that you learn, laugh, cry, and share every moment of your life with.
